Tut 9 What are the primary advantages of HR portals and shared services centres? Give examples of how HR professionals might use each to better achieve cost controls and service enhancement. Advantages- HRIS capabilities are leveraged through: -security is enhanced: essential due to the privacy protection matters allied with HR data and applications -performance is improved: lessens transaction costs and rises customer satisfaction -auditing proficiencies are added: supports the growing demand to demonstrate agreement with corporate quality and policy -change capabilities are enhanced -alternative HR administration assemblies (self-service portals, sscs, outsourcing) are simplified. How HR professionals use them each: -self-service portal: an electronic access point to an organisations HRM info. E.g. company policies. It also aids schedules, and payroll data based on individuals, or other records. -professionals may use a shared-service centre which delivers exceptional service to internal customers while reducing costs through effectiveness and constant improvement.
